Minutes of the Board´s meeting - correspondence form:

The organization of sporting events in this year is significantly disrupted by the spread of the Covid 19 epidemic. In the first phase, in the Spring, we had responded to the situation not only by cancelling events, but also with some hope by postponing terms. The improvement occurred in the Summer months, but Autumn brings another and very high increase in the number of infected persons. In the current situation, it is almost certain that in 2020 it will not be possible to organize any events.

The Board dealt with the organization of the General meeting in Prague. First, in agreement with the organizer, it changed the term from May to November 2020 and in September decided to cancel the General meeting in this year. The organizer (the Czech Republic) has offered to organize the General meeting in Prague in June 2021. The General Secretariat also discussed this change with colleagues from Italy, who were to organize the General meeting in 2021. President Oliviero Brugiati sent a written consent to the change and has offered to organise the General meeting in 2022 in Italy. Following this decision, at the invitation of the GS, the members of the Board expressed their opinions by e-mail on the question "What's next"?

First of all, the Board decided to organize the 56th General meeting in 2020, but in writing (correspondence form). This GM will discuss current documents that cannot or should not be postponed. If the situation allows it in 2021, the 57th General meeting in Prague would take place in the classic way, including elections (the program will also include items that will not be discussed by the extraordinary 56th General meeting). The 58th General meeting in 2022 in Italy would also take place in the classic way.

The Board decided to include in the programme of the correspondence 56th General meeting:

- Approval of minutes of previous meetings

  • of the 55th General Meeting 2019 in Albena (BUL)
  • of the Meetings of the Board (November 2019 and February 2020)
  • of the CTT (January 2020)

- Information on account closure, including the 2019 audit

- The procedure for planning sports events for the years 2021-2022

- The impact of the epidemic on financial matters

- Extension of the term of office of the Board and the CTT USIC in an extraordinary situation.

The Board will prepare the documents for the correspondence 56th General meeting, will send out to all member countries for comments and at the end will prepare the minutes of the meeting. Everything should be processed by the end of 2020.
