Board´s meeting, 10.-12.2., Montdidier (FRA)
This time, the regular meeting of the USIC Board was organized by colleagues from the French USCF in the SNCF sports and recreation complex north of Paris.
The meeting was opened and chaired by the USIC President, Christophe Parel, with the Treasurer, Peter Lienhard excused. After introductory information from the President and the General Secretary, the members of the Board were familiarized with the written documents for the General Meeting prepared by the Treasurer (report on the results for the past year and the draft budget for the next period). The Chairman of the CTT, Sylvain Helard reported on the conclusions of the CTT meeting in January this year in Krakow, where the committee focused primarily on the preparation of the 2026 championships (Football, Angling, Tennis, Cross country) and proposals for amending the Sports Regulations and disciplines rules. He pointed out that there are still three sports in the sports calendar for 2027, Bowling, Cycling and Shooting without an organizer.
The Board´s members had a difficult task in revising the USIC documents, some of which are outdated by time and new conditions in rail sports. The discussion confirmed that this work is necessary, but not easy. For time reasons, the discussion of this item was interrupted after several hours and will continue by video conference.
An important part of the programme was the preparation of the General meeting in May 2026 in Nuremberg. General Secretary, Miroslav Kaprálek informed the Board´s members about the draft programme and the preparation of elections for the leading positions of USIC. Proposals for candidates are coming to the GS, the quotas for CTT members are not filled yet.
