In Rome, when we signed with the UIC the M.O.U, we agreed to hand over the USIC trophies for the period 2014-2015 during the UIC General Assembly in St Petersburg on 1st of December 2016. The concerned USIC members were present at this meeting.
Rewarded were:
- Germany represented by Jürgen Happich President of VDES Verband Deutscher Eisenbahner Sportvereine in third place
- Russia, represented by Artem Dorozhkin ( Director executive of Russia Lokomotiv Athletic Associations) in second place
- Bulgaria represented by Ognyan Rajdavichki (President of Railwayman Club) in first place.
Before the award ceremony, Mr. Dominique Paget, the USIC President, together with M Loubinoux, Executive Director of UIC, announced that two USIC championships in 2017 will have, for the first time, a charitable character within the framework of the UIC/USIC cooperation. These two championships will be bowling in Bulgaria and Badminton in Switzerland. These two sports events will allow generating financial products, through donations made by sponsors, with the aim of supporting a charitable cause. The possibility to organize an international chess competition during the UIC General Assembly in December 2017 in Paris was also discussed.
